Relocating battery

I am in the process of moving my battery the rear.i have 1 gauge welding wire to run back now. my question is do i have to run a seperate (like 8 gauge)wire back from the alternator then back or should i just get a alternator relay and run 1 wire ? thanks

on mine, I have the additional one wire for the alternator. you could just use the painless remote adapter kit.
