Basically i have a 65 coupe. Im looking to drop a 351 stroker into it. Now the fun part. I think i read on stangnet that you did make or atempt to mock up a turbo kit for a 351, but you had to notch the shock towers. Whats involved in the notching? How much would it cost for a set of the headers? or would i be better off just turning a set of shorties around? Thanks

Eh, have made a kit for everything but a 351 in a 65-66. Making a TT kit for a 351 in a 69 right now. But you can't flip headers in these cars like you can in fox cars. Not nearly the room. Let alone with a 351 in a 65-66. they would be very expensive because of the amount of time trying to get it to work, and the tons material that would be wasted trying to get it to work.
When we cut towers, it's when getting rid of the upper control arms for coil overs. It's a bit of work to take them out, them bend a plate and weld it in from behind

There is more than one option. What ize turbo or HP target are you looking for ? I could build some, but the cost would be in the neighbor hood of 1400-1700. The other I woul dchoose long before a MII kit is the AJE. Much more options for spindles, racks, coil over rates, and adj shocks. It has much more travel in the suspension than a MII also.

I was looking at the Borg Warner S480 (80mm)A/R 1.32 going through a 408 stroker. 4-5in down pipe with 3in crossover. Waste gate at the merge pipe dumping into the downpipe and routing cold side through a A/A intercooler 3in.  Blowing through a 900cfm carb. The car is getting ladder bar coil spring rearend from chris alston along with a 10pt cage in  a couple weeks. im planing on running in the 9's on grudge races, and dialing it back to run in the 10's for the fun run stuff. I REALLY want to run a turbo, but if its just ganna be a nightmare, i guess i could just run a Cog Drive YSI or F1.

That's a good size turbo. That's the exact one in the 69 we're building. It's possible. takes some work for the blower or that turbo to fit. If you run an AJE kit, I can get you headers that would fit ( with no towers a 67 turbo header would fit with the rack and that car.) You would just need to route them into the turbo. With a 5 in Dp you'll need to to lots to fit it. 4in would fit decent though with an engine set back and pushing the rad forward. I would still take out the towrs if you wanted an engine that big with that much HP. You aren't going to be able to fit good size header for that blower in there with towers. If you didn't want to cut out the towers, best bet would be a 302 based 363 a S400 on the a larger turbine like the 480.  Go 8's if you wanted, and keep the towers. It'll take you about 15-17 psi or so to get DEEP into the 9's. I could make a set of headers for the 302 in the 65 if AJE is not an option.
Where are you located ? Who's carb are you looking at ?
