Hey i was wondering if it is reasonable to think i could get a stock rebuild on the 289 and switch out the c4 trans back to a manual on a 4k budget the car originally was 65 mustang coupe with a 3spd inline six. The owner b4 me threw in the 289 and made it an auto. This build is about 7mths out as i am deployed to iraq currently. I would have called but its easier this way until i get stateside again. any reply would be appreciated thanks

This is just fine if you know what ya want.  Wink Usually a rebuild and install runs just under or around 4k. By the time you have the rebuild, in and out of the engine, new parts like pump, hoses, plugs, wires, etc, it adds up pretty quick. But if I remember, labor is about 1400 of it, I think. Do you have a manual for it, or any of the other stuff like the pedal assembly ? A manual/auto swap is pretty straight forward, just requires some parts.
