Customers 01 lightning that has ran a best or 7.2 @ 97mph with a crappy 60' at qualcom raceway came in to purchase some caltracs and have them installed.

very nice lightning Shocked

here is the stock leaf spring mount that we need to remove along with the front eye bolt and rear shackle mount. Unfortunately the whole leaf spring needs to be removed to install everything that comes with the caltracs.

with the jack stands on the frame and the jack under the rear end we started to disassemble the stock mounts.




laying the leaf spring on its side we removed the stock rubber bushing and installed the new billet aluminum piece and inner sleeve.

with the new bushing installed you can move on to the reinstall of the spring and installing the front portion of the caltracs linkage.


When purchasing caltracs for a lightning you allso need to buy the square u-bolt kit which also comes with a plate to set on top of the leaf springs for added support. You will also notice that now the brackets are on the bottom side of the leaf spring instead of the top.

Thank's again richard. this is definetly a top notch kit and  i am looking forward to seeing the improvement's on my 60 ft over my old slapper bar's  Grin.

btw i wish you told me you were going to take picture's i would have washed it. lol
