Hey there, I figure you're the guys to talk to about turbo'ing an early Stang. Got an idea for a project, and Im wondering if I can get some advice/warnings about where Im headed. I think its time to put away such childish things as tunnel rams and double Holleys.
Motor: 363 stroker, Man o War block, 8.5:1 comp, all forged guts, ARP head/main studs and main girdle RHS 215cc heads, lightly polished, chrome moly roller rockers, rocker stud girdles Comp solid roller, .614/.621 lift, 248/256 degrees at .050", or Trick Flow Stage 3 hyd roller .574/.595 236/248 @ .050" (have all the parts for either) Parker FunnelWeb intake, 850 blow through carb (undecided on brand) T-76 turbo, unsure of what brand, A/R or trim to use, non-intercooled for simplicity 3" crossover and turbo inlet, 4" downpipe Homemade headers and tubing MSD 6-BTM
Drivetrain: TKO transmission, 26 spline input/31 spline output Aluminum flywheel, 6 puck clutch 3.5" chrome moly driveshaft 9" spool, 3.80 gears, 35 spline axles 26x10.50 DOT slicks
The reason for the heads and cam are, well, I already have them on another motor. I guess my goal for the build would be to get it as fast as possible, while maintaining the ability to put some street miles on it on the weekends running pump gas with the boost cranked down. My questions would be:
Ideal A/R ratio? Stainless or mild steel for exhaust? Likely horsepower output? Boost limit on block and internals? Preferred downpipe routing? Guess on 1/4 mile ET (if it hooks)?
Sorry for all the questions, but I have a lot of them. Never worked with forced induction before, and with this amount of money in it, Im dreading the likely explosion that would ensue if I seriously miscalculate something. Thanks for your time.
